YMCA basketball/Austin 2010

Well, Austin's last day playing basketball for the YMCA was today. He won an award for 110% player. Coach said that any time he was on the court, he was giving 110%.
During the season, he had issues with stealing the ball, etc. He says that he was nervous on the court and worried about stealing or playing the way that I know he can. As the season progressed, though, he got alot better. The team only won one game, but they played very hard and everyone improved as the season went on.

colic....UGHHHHHH

Well, Gracie has colic, that is partly why I haven't blogged as much as I had planned to do. She starts the screaming about 5PM every night and it lasts until about 10. I have tried everything that everyone has suggested and nothing works at all. It is making life very hard, and dinnertime almost impossible. If I don't get something started pretty early in the day, then Austin either helps, or I have to hold her while I make something simple. She screams when I put her down during this time, so I try to just hold her, because the screaming drives me insane. She is almost at the 3 month mark, so hopefully it will be gone soon!!!

TRD

Just wanted to note a sweet memory of Jesse. Starting about 15 months old, at night or naptime, I would spell out t-i-r-e-d when I thought that he was tired. He caught only really quickly and started to say, I'm not TRD a few months later. Too sweet....he still say it now.

Fibroma

Well, we went to the orthopedist a couple of weeks ago, and he said that the "non-ossifying fibroma" is benign and not something that needs any attention, but that that i not where his knee pain coming from. The pain is on the front of his leg beside the kneecap. The fibroma is on the back of his leg. They gave us a pain chart for him to write down when he ha pain. Now that I can see how often is actually hurt him, I think it may need to have an MRI or something. He only used to complain about it once a week or so, but now with the chart, it seems to be hurting him almost every day. I will call and speak to the doctor to see what the plan will be now. We originally made a follow up appointment in the middle of April, but with ut hurting him this often, I don't think that we should wait until then.

Austin's knee

Austin has been complaining for a month or more that his right knee bothers him. He said that it doesn't hurt when he is playing sports, or at the gym, etc. I thought it was maybe a growing pain that would go away. Welll, he would say something about it around once a week, so I made him an appointment with the pediatrician. Doc sent him for bloodwork(to check for arthritis) and an xray. the bloodwork came back normal, but the xray showed a tumor. I made him an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on Friday. I hope that they don't need to remove it, but kinda figure that they will need to since it has been bothering him. Doc says that it shouldn't affect anything that he does, which is awesome. Also, Billy says that he had something that sounds the same when he was 20, and had it removed, and has not had another issue with it. I will blog again soon when we find out what the results are.

Shots/croup

Took both babies in for shots on Fri the 12th. It was Jesse's last set that he needed to get them caught up. They were Gracie's first set. Jesse was a little cranky on Friday night and Saturday, but fine other than that. Gracie did pretty good, except that she had fever for a few days.
Jesse had a pretty rough night last night. As soon as I heard his cough, I knew that it was croup. Took him to see Doc and they put him on a steroid. Last week he had his first painful ear infection since the tubes. This seems like the same pattern as before the tubes. I really hope it doesn't continue. If it does, he will have to have the tube replaced and possibly his adenoids taken out. We will see.

Ear tube gone?

Well, Jesse ended up waking up screaming in pain around 2AM this morning because of his ear, so I got him and Gracie and myself ready and took him to the ER. The doc said that he has a pretty bad infection, and couldn't see where the tube is supposed to be because there was so much fluid in the canal. I'm not an expert, but can only believe that since he was in so much pain, that the tube must've fallen out. He has had 2 infections since the tubes and both times, his ears just drained, and caused him no pain AT ALL. Guess we will see what happens. Made him a docs appt on Friday with the pediatrician. I will wait to see what he says before calling the specialist.
